In December of 2016, our lives were changed forever when our youngest son, Brooks Tonn, a 9-year old Hinsdale Little League and Red Dog Baseball All-Star, Hinsdale Falcon quarterback, and all around great kid was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.

The battle with pediatric cancer is a horrible nightmare no child or family should ever have to experience. Yet, like most children, Brooks never gave up hope and through it all, he was always more concerned about the well-being of others than he was about himself. Even though Brooks ultimately lost his battle with cancer in December of 2017, the courage he displayed throughout his treatment inspired the start of the Brooks Strong Foundation - a 501(c)(3) pediatric cancer foundation with a mission of granting scholarships to kids going through cancer treatment, raising awareness, and funding research to help kids fighting cancer.

Have Courage and Be Kind

The Brooks Strong Foundation funds cutting-edge pediatric cancer research and provides scholarships to defray the cost of sports and extracurricular activities for families with kids going through cancer treatment.  Together we can make a difference, both globally and in the lives of individual children while remembering and honoring our sweet Brooks who lost his battle with cancer in December.
